Janet Wilson

Principal

Janet is in her fourth year as the principal at St. Matthew the Evangelist School. She was an elementary principal at a large public elementary school for thirteen years before coming to St. Matthew. Before becoming a principal she taught first and third grade for fourteen years. Janet’s undergraduate degree is from Indiana University, and her Master’s Degree is from UNO. She also has an Endorsement in Educational Administration from UNO. Janet and her husband have two grown daughters and four grandchildren.

She has many years of experience with school improvement and NCA accreditation, so her experience is helpful as the St. Matthew faculty members continue their work on accreditation. She also has experience and training in research-based literacy practices and assessments.

She is thoroughly enjoying her work with the teachers, staff, students, parents, and parishioners at St. Matthew School where there is excellent school curricula, warm and caring teachers, and a dedication to Catholic education.
