During my college experience I had the opportunity to serve a mission for my church. I was lucky enough to serve that mission in Costa Rica for 18 months. That is where I learned Spanish. When I returned I was able to add Spanish to my studies. I graduated with a double major in Elementary Education and Spanish, as well as an endorsement in Math from the University of Northern Iowa. I taught high school Spanish for 2 years, then went to Lothrop Elementary Magnet Center and taught the Spanish Magnet program there. I loved being involved in such a great program, but as my family was growing, I decided I wanted to spend more time at home with my children. So, I teach part time Spanish here. This is my 7th year teaching here at St. Matthew. I love the staff and the children and their families. I have a wonderful husband and four busy boys.
